McLennan County Fairgrounds Expansion

In this July 2020 video of the first phase of the McLennan County Fairgrounds Expansion, see the completion of the TPO Mule-Hide roof section on the new Expo. The square footage of the roof system is about 1200 squares of field, and about 300 squares of parapet walls, 70 squares of standing seam metal roof system. Now, installation of the new 7.2 IMETCO metal wall panel system is underway. That’s 300 squares of exterior metal wall panels, and 2,000 of metal coping cap. The building is about 60-feet tall and is located next to the Extraco Event Center and will be a great attraction for various new venues in Waco, Texas.

The Expo is designed to accommodate 250 to 2,500 people with the ability to be reconfigure quickly for trade shows, sports tournaments and banquets.

The McLennan County Fairgrounds Expansion, deep in the Heart of Texas, in Waco, was well planned and executed by General Contractor John Erwin Construction. Vendors include Equipment Depot (Waco, TX); L & M Gutters, LLC; ABC Supply Co. Inc.; Mule-Hide Products; and McLennan County, Texas.

The Expo is phase one of the expansion of the Fairgrounds. The other two phases include the construction of a large equine facility at the current Paul Tyson Field as well as Little League, football and track facilities just north of Waco High School.
